Last Dates for Membership Renewal and SSS Renewal

All AKMG members are reminded to renew their annual membership before March 31st. The Central Working Committee has proposed the following:

• Members who have not renewed for two consecutive years should be removed from the membership list. If they have to become members again, they have to pay admission fee again. Please contact your chapter secretary if you have not renewed your annual dues.

The following are the main decisions taken during the AKMG SSS Annual General Body meeting held in January, 2009:

• Fines for late payment of annual fee waived till March 31st, 2009. After that the member will have to pay Dhs 25 per month as late fee. After three months of non payment, the member will lose his membership.
• Instead of paying the Dhs 200 annual fee for 20 years(Total 4000), SSS members can now take life membership of AKMG SSS by paying Dhs 2000.
• Members can continue to be members of the AKMG SSS even if they leave UAE, provided they become life members of both AKMG Emirates and SSS and pay the fraternity charges every year.
• Secretaries should collect the SSS annual renewal fee dhs 200 from members preferably as cash, give a temporary receipt, and then send the total amount as a single cheque in favor of AKMG EMIRATES to Dr.Sirajudeen.

For the new members, here are the salient features of AKMG Social Security Scheme:

• Retirement benefit when you leave UAE after 3 years of membership
• Death benefit to family, in the unfortunate event: To be paid within one month.
• Diya money advance if patient under your care dies.
• And many more!

Committee Meeting 9th March,2009

Yesterday we had a family events day committee meeting at Grand Buffet Restaurant, Sharjah.) No, really we were not interested in eating, the Dubai people wanted someplace where they can arrive earlier without much traffic problems.

The following attended: Dr.Viswanathan (President), Dr.Hanish Babu (Secretary General), Dr.Jeladharan (Treasurer), Dr.Sirajudeen (VP incharge), Dr.Sunny Kurian (General Coordinator), Dr.Meera Gopi Kurian (Family activities coordinator), Dr.Feroz Gafoor ( Sports coordinator), Dr.George Joseph (President, Sharjah Chapter), Dr.George Jacob (Ras al Khaima Chapter President), Dr.Chithra Shamsudheen (Sharjah Chapter Secretary), Dr.K.M.Mathew (RAK Treasurer) and Dr. Nisham Noorudeen (Jt.Secretary, AKMG Emirates).

Details of the family day events were discussed, as has been circulated to all concerned. Chapters were entrusted to find sponsors for the event. Registration details, flyer and registration form to be forwarded to all members.
